LMU’s Elementary Education Credential Program qualifies undergraduate students to serve as a teacher in a California K-6 public school classroom. Students in the program work towards a major in their chosen discipline, as well as fulfill the requirement for a preliminary teaching credential with their time at LMU. Our curriculum equips students to receive a California SB2042 Multiple Subjects Preliminary teaching credential or to continue their education in a Master’s program.

LMU offers a Liberal Studies major particularly for students interested in elementary education. Students also have the option to choose a different major and still earn a Multiple Subject Preliminary teaching credential. If you are interested in teaching middle or high school, please view the Secondary Education Program
