Students in LMU’s Art History major learn the meaning and purpose of the visual art form, its development throughout history, role in society, and relationship with other cultural expressions. Throughout the course of their studies, students gain an inherent perception and understanding of art and its visual and symbolic majors. Art History majors learn to comprehend diverse traditional and contemporary artistic traditions within local and global historical, social, religious, and cultural contexts.
